After 4 bone-chilling years in Upstate New York, Abel received a Bachelor’s Degree in Television, Radio, & Film from Syracuse University. Upon graduation, he returned to the West Coast to begin his hands-on education in production. Abel joined The Big Picture in 2004 as an intern, and was quickly promoted to a full time staff employee 1 month later.

Under the tutelage of The Big Picture’s President George Lang and the many DP’s and Sound Technicians who work for The Big Picture, Abel has become a quality field sound recordist and assistant camera operator. He works with a variety of cameras, in numerous formats including BetaSP, DVCam, DVCPro, Mini-DV, HDV, HD, XD, and Digital BetaCam.

From troubleshooting computer issues to creating Powerpoint and Keynote presentations, Abel can do it all. In addition to his work in the office and the field, Abel has become an integral part of the management team.

Amidst formidable competition, Abel has managed to hold onto The Big Picture’s coveted “From Broadband to Betacam” multi-tasker award for the last two consecutive years.
